Concealed Weapons Licensing

A concealed weapon means any deadly weapon carried on a person in a manner not discernible by ordinary observation. A deadly weapon means any dirk, dirk knife, bowie knife, dagger, firearm, or any other device designed or intended to be capable of causing death or serious injury. Idaho’s sheriffs help enforce the law and the citizens’ right to keep and bear arms. We assist in helping understand the agreements with other states.

Off Highway Vehicle Program

Idaho’s natural wonders are some of the most beautiful and vital assets for citizens and visitors alike. Throughout Idaho, our different county sheriffs and their deputies and staff support the enforcement of Idaho’s laws in the extensive public areas throughout the state and specifically on the many state and national forest roads and trails.

Scholarships

Idaho Sheriffs Memorial Scholarships are awarded annually to children or grandchildren of sheriffs and their employees. Previous scholarship winners for 2022 are included below. 2023 winners will be announed some time in early 2024. Each individual below received $1500 for educational assistance. Search and Rescue

SAR, involves: conducting a search in an effort to locate lost or missing people, rendering aid to the victim, and. evacuating the victim to safety or recovering the body.

Sex Offender Registry

The Idaho Sheriffs’ Association has partnered with Offender Watch to provide this tool for our 44 county sheriffs’ offices and for the public at large. When a local agency or sheriff’s office updates information on a sex offender in OffenderWatch, it is automatically updated across the entire state network. This provides real time information to our sheriffs and the public about the presence and whereabouts of sex offenders who are required by law to report their addresses and any movements.

Victim Notification Services (VINE)

VINE is the nation’s leading victim notification network. It allows survivors, victims of crime, and other concerned citizens to access timely and reliable information about offenders or criminal cases in U.S. jails and prisons. Register to receive automated notifications via email, text, or phone call, or check custody status information online at any time. VINE is a lifesaving service that offers peace of mind to millions of people every day.
