The Work You Don't See

Emergencies most people never see.
Every day across Idaho, sheriffs and deputies respond to emergencies most people never see. These situations demand training, coordination, equipment, and preparedness long before an emergency occurs.
Through the ongoing support of Honorary Members like you, the Idaho Sheriffs’ Association helps strengthen critical statewide efforts that protect families across our state.

3

A wildfire moving toward homes.

Evacuation planning, coordination, and readiness before the smoke arrives.

4

A family stranded on the river.

Boating safety patrols and water rescue when minutes matter.

5

A search that continues until someone is found safe.

A Story From The Field ·

Two hikers, lost after dark. Found shortly after midnight.
Search & Rescue teams responded to two hikers lost in Idaho’s backcountry after dark. One was injured. Both were cold and struggling to make it out safely.
Teams located the hikers shortly after midnight, provided medical assistance and warming support, and guided them safely to safety.
“That level of readiness does not happen by accident.”
It requires trained personnel, specialized equipment, statewide cooperation, and the continued support of people who believe strong local law enforcement matters.

A Letter We Received

"For all you do… thank you."
“She responded to our 9-1-1 call. Her quick assessment and actions saved my husband’s life. She realized he was having a heart attack and called for an ambulance. She stayed with us until the ambulance left. We are so grateful.”
