         WHO WE ARE

The Idaho Sheriffs’ Association incorporated as a non-profit in 1962 to promote the Office of Sheriff and enhance law enforcement professionalism by facilitating training, communication, and providing public safety services to Idaho citizens. In addition, we annually inspect all Idaho jails for adherence to Jail Standards, manage the Idaho VINE program, facilitate the Sheriffs Sex Offender registration program, work with DEA on marijuana grow eradication efforts, provide scholarships, and perform a host of other activities to assist Sheriffs in the performance of their duties. Clearwater Back Country Rescue Team is managed by the Clearwater Sheriff’s Office. The Team’s primary mission is search and rescue. Flights are staffed with volunteer advanced EMT’s, but often include an RN or MD.
Beginning October 1, 2020, you will need to have a license or Identification (ID) card with the Star or another accepted form of identification, such as a passport, to fly commercially within the United States or access a federal facility, national laboratory, or military base. A U.S. passport will still be required to fly internationally. More Information HERE.
